First conditional: if + present, will
Birinci tip koşul: if + present, will
Animasyonlu anlatım
Çizgi film öğretmen First conditional: if + present, will bu dersin kendi örnek cümleleriyle sahne sahne anlatır: tahtada formül, renk kodlu cümle parçaları, yanlış → doğru karşılaştırmaları. Anlatım İngilizcedir (İngiliz aksanı). İlk açılışta senaryo hazırlanır (~1 dk), sonra anında açılır.
Birinci tip koşul cümlesi, gelecekte olabilecek bir şeyi ve onun sonucunu anlatır: If it rains, I'll stay at home. Bu yapı Türkçedeki -sa/-se + -acak/-ecek kalıbına benzer: Yağmur yağarsa evde kalacağım. Ama dikkat: İngilizcede if kısmında will kullanılmaz. Orada present simple kullanılır.
A if + present, will: olabilecek şeyler
Durum: Ayşe yarın Bodrum'da plaja gitmek istiyor. Ama gökyüzü gri. Ayşe şöyle diyor: If it rains, I*'ll stay at the hotel.* (Yağmur yağarsa otelde kalacağım.)
Yağmur yağacak mı? Bilmiyoruz. Belki yağar. Yağarsa, sonuç belli: Ayşe otelde kalacak.
Kural: Cümlenin iki kısmı var:
- if kısmı → koşul (olursa ne olur?) → present simple
- ana kısım → sonuç → will + fiil ('ll = will)
| if kısmı (koşul) | ana kısım (sonuç) |
|---|---|
| If it rains, | I'll stay at the hotel. |
| If you hurry, | you'll catch the ferry. |
| If Mert calls, | I'll tell him. |
Türkçede koşulu -sa/-se eki gösterir (yağarsa). İngilizcede bu işi if kelimesi yapar ve fiil present simple kalır.
- If the traffic is bad, I'll be late.Trafik kötü olursa geç kalacağım.İstanbul'da çok olası bir durum!
- If you come to Istanbul, we'll have tea together.İstanbul'a gelirsen birlikte çay içeriz.
- If Can studies, he'll pass the exam. Can çalışırsa sınavı geçecek.he/she/it ile -s eki unutulmaz: studies.
- If it's sunny on Saturday, we'll go to the beach.Cumartesi güneşli olursa plaja gideceğiz.
- If you eat all that baklava, you'll feel ill.O baklavanın hepsini yersen kendini kötü hissedersin.
B if kısmında will YOK
Durum: Elif bir iş görüşmesine gitti. Sonucu bilmiyor. Diyor ki: If I get the job, I'll move to Ankara. (İşi alırsam Ankara'ya taşınacağım.)
İşi almak gelecekte olacak bir şey. Ama Elif If I will get demiyor. If I get diyor.
Kural: Konu gelecek olsa bile if kısmında present simple kullanırız. will sadece sonuç kısmında olur.
| ✗ Yanlış | ✓ Doğru |
|---|---|
| If it will rain, … | If it rains, … |
| If she will come, … | If she comes, … |
| If I will have time, … | If I have time, … |
Türkçede de aslında böyle: Yağmur yağacaksa demiyoruz, yağarsa diyoruz. İngilizcede de if kısmı 'gelecek' biçimi almaz.
he / she / it ile fiile -s eklemeyi unutmayın: If she comes, If it works, If Can misses …
- If I get the job, I'll move to Ankara.İşi alırsam Ankara'ya taşınacağım.If I will get değil!
- If she comes early, we'll start the meeting.Erken gelirse toplantıya başlarız.
- If the match finishes late, I'll take a taxi.Maç geç biterse taksiye bineceğim.
- If he misses the bus, he'll walk.Otobüsü kaçırırsa yürüyecek.
- If my laptop doesn't work, I'll use yours.Dizüstü bilgisayarım çalışmazsa seninkini kullanacağım.
C Olumsuz ve soru: don't / won't, What will you do if…?
Durum: Mert evde, saat çok geç. Diyor ki: If I don't leave now, I'll miss the ferry. And if I miss it, I won't see the match. (Şimdi çıkmazsam vapuru kaçıracağım. Kaçırırsam da maçı göremeyeceğim.)
Kural:
- if kısmı olumsuz → don't / doesn't + fiil
- sonuç kısmı olumsuz → won't + fiil (won't = will not)
- soru → will öne gelir: What will you do if …?
| if kısmı | ana kısım | |
|---|---|---|
| Olumlu | if you leave now | you'll catch it |
| Olumsuz | if you don't leave now | you won't catch it |
| Soru | What will you do | if it rains? |
Dikkat: if kısmında won't da kullanılmaz! If you won't hurry ✗ → If you don't hurry ✓
- If you don't hurry, you'll miss the bus.Acele etmezsen otobüsü kaçırırsın.
- If it rains, we won't go to the park.Yağmur yağarsa parka gitmeyeceğiz.
- If I'm tired tonight, I won't cook.Bu akşam yorgun olursam yemek yapmayacağım.
- If Zeynep doesn't call, I'll call her.Zeynep aramazsa ben onu ararım.
- What will you do if you lose your phone?Telefonunu kaybedersen ne yapacaksın?
- Will you help me if I have a problem?Bir sorunum olursa bana yardım eder misin?
D if başta mı, sonda mı? (virgül)
Durum: Tom'a bir haber vermek istiyorsun. İki şekilde söyleyebilirsin:
- If I see Tom, I'll tell him.
- I'll tell Tom if I see him. Anlam aynı: Tom'u görürsem ona söyleyeceğim.
Kural:
- if başta → iki kısım arasına virgül (,) koyarız.
- if ortada → virgül yok.
| if başta | if ortada |
|---|---|
| If you're hungry, I'll make eggs. | I'll make eggs if you're hungry. |
| If it's nice, we'll eat outside. | We'll eat outside if it's nice. |
Türkçede koşul neredeyse hep başta gelir: Acıkırsan yumurta yaparım. İngilizcede iki sıra da çok doğal. Ama hangi sırada olursa olsun will yine sonuç kısmında, present yine if kısmında kalır.
- If you're hungry, I'll make some eggs.Acıktıysan biraz yumurta yaparım.if başta → virgül var.
- I'll make some eggs if you're hungry.Acıktıysan biraz yumurta yaparım.if ortada → virgül yok.
- We'll eat outside if the weather is nice.Hava güzel olursa dışarıda yeriz.
- I'll lend you my laptop if yours doesn't work.Seninki çalışmazsa sana dizüstü bilgisayarımı ödünç veririm.
- Sarah will be angry if you forget her birthday.Doğum gününü unutursan Sarah kızacak.
'if' ile 'will' küsdür, yan yana durmazlar! Formül: If + present, will + fiil. Türkçede -sa/-se ekini (gelirse, yağarsa, alırsam) gördüğün yerde İngilizcede present simple düşün: gelirse → if he comes.
