Animasyonlu anlatım
Çizgi film öğretmen to / into / across / through (movement) bu dersin kendi örnek cümleleriyle sahne sahne anlatır: tahtada formül, renk kodlu cümle parçaları, yanlış → doğru karşılaştırmaları. Anlatım İngilizcedir (İngiliz aksanı). İlk açılışta senaryo hazırlanır (~1 dk), sonra anında açılır.
Bu ünitede hareket bildiren edatları öğreniyoruz: to, into, out of, across, through, along, up, down, over, under, past, around. Bu edatlar bir şeyin nereye ya da nereden geçerek gittiğini anlatır. Türkçede bunu çoğu zaman ek ile söyleriz (-e/-a: bankaya, -den/-dan: tünelden) ya da karşıya, boyunca gibi kelimelerle. İngilizcede ise edat ismin önüne gelir: bankaya → to the bank.
A to ve into: bir yere / bir yerin içine
Durum: Ayşe evde. Şimdi bankaya gidiyor: She is going to the bank. Bankaya varıyor ve içeri giriyor: She goes into the bank. (Ayşe bankaya gidiyor. Bankaya giriyor.)
Kural:
- to → gidilen yer, hedef (-e/-a gitmek)
- into → dışarıdan içeriye hareket (-e/-a girmek)
Türkçede ikisi de -e/-a ekiyle söylenir, İngilizcede ikisi farklıdır.

Dikkat:
- home ve there önüne to gelmez: go home, go there
- arrive fiilinden sonra to kullanmayız: arrive in Istanbul (şehir, ülke), arrive at the airport (bina, yer)
- I go to work by metro every day.Her gün işe metroyla giderim.
- Can is flying to Ankara tomorrow.Can yarın Ankara'ya uçuyor.
- Zeynep walked into the kitchen and made some tea.Zeynep mutfağa girdi ve çay yaptı.Dışarıdan içeriye → into
- Put the cheese into the fridge, please.Peyniri buzdolabına koy lütfen.Konuşmada 'put it in the fridge' da olur.
- It's late. Let's go home.Geç oldu. Hadi eve gidelim.go home – 'to' yok!
- We arrived in Bodrum at six o'clock.Bodrum'a saat altıda vardık.arrive to ✗ → arrive in / at ✓
B into ↔ out of / get on ↔ get off
Durum: Kedi kutuya atlıyor: The cat jumps into the box. Sonra kutudan çıkıyor: It jumps out of the box. (Kedi kutuya atlar. Kutudan çıkar.)
Kural:
- into → içeri (-e girmek)
- out of → dışarı (-den çıkmak) – iki kelime: out of!
Türkçede -den eki ismin sonuna gelir (taksiden). İngilizcede out of ismin önüne gelir: out of the taxi.

C across, through, along
Durum: Tom trafik ışıklarında. Karşıya geçiyor: He walks across the road. Sonra parkın içinden geçiyor: He walks through the park. Sonra nehir boyunca yürüyor: He walks along the river.
Kural:
- across → bir yandan öbür yana (karşıya geçmek): yol, köprü, nehir, deniz
- through → bir şeyin içinden geçerek (-den geçmek): tünel, orman, kapı, kalabalık, trafik
- along → bir çizgi boyunca (boyunca): sahil, cadde, nehir

Not: Türkçede tünelden geçtik ve köprüden geçtik aynı ek ile söylenir. Ama İngilizcede: through the tunnel (içinden), across the bridge (üstünden, karşıya).

- The ferry goes across the Bosphorus to Üsküdar.Vapur Boğaz'ı geçip Üsküdar'a gider.
- We drove through the Eurasia Tunnel.Avrasya Tüneli'nden geçtik.İçinden → through
- It took an hour to get through the traffic.Trafikten geçmek bir saat sürdü.
- Let's walk along the seaside in Moda.Moda'da sahil boyunca yürüyelim.
- The thief came in through the window.Hırsız pencereden girdi.
D up, down, over, under, past, around
Durum: Elif tepeye çıkıyor: She walks up the hill. Fırının önünden geçiyor: She goes past the bakery. Sonra tepeden iniyor: She walks down the hill.

past = durmadan, bir yerin önünden geçmek. Yol tarifinde çok kullanılır: Go past the mosque and turn left.
- Can ran up the stairs to the fifth floor.Can merdivenlerden beşinci kata koştu.
- Go down this street and the café is on the right.Bu caddeden aşağı in, kafe sağda.
- The ball went over the wall.Top duvarın üstünden geçti.
- The cat ran under the car.Kedi arabanın altına koştu.
- Walk past the mosque and turn left.Caminin önünden geç ve sola dön.
- We walked around the old town in Safranbolu.Safranbolu'da eski şehri gezdik.
Önce sor: Durum mu, hareket mi? Hareket yoksa → in / at (She is in the shop). Hareket varsa → to / into (She goes into the shop). Türkçedeki -e/-a eki çoğu zaman to/into, -den/-dan eki ise from / out of / through demektir. Ve unutma: go home – 'to' yok!
