Past simple: regular verbs (-ed)
Geçmiş zaman: düzenli fiiller
Animasyonlu anlatım
Çizgi film öğretmen Past simple: regular verbs (-ed) bu dersin kendi örnek cümleleriyle sahne sahne anlatır: tahtada formül, renk kodlu cümle parçaları, yanlış → doğru karşılaştırmaları. Anlatım İngilizcedir (İngiliz aksanı). İlk açılışta senaryo hazırlanır (~1 dk), sonra anında açılır.
Geçmişte olup bitmiş işleri anlatmak için past simple kullanırız: dün, geçen hafta, iki yıl önce… Düzenli fiillerde kural çok basit: fiilin sonuna -ed ekleriz: work → worked.
Ayşe works in a bank. She usually works in the office. But yesterday she worked at home.
| Şimdi (her gün) | Geçmiş (dün) |
|---|---|
| I work | I worked |
| she works | she worked |
| we play | we played |
| he watches | he watched |
Dikkat: Geçmiş zamanda kişiye göre değişiklik yoktur:
| Kişi | Geçmiş |
|---|---|
| I / you / he / she / it / we / they | worked |
→ she works → she worked (sondaki -s gider!) → Türkçede fiil sona gelir (Dün evde çalıştı); İngilizcede fiil özneden hemen sonra gelir: She worked at home yesterday.
- I cleaned the kitchen this morning.Bu sabah mutfağı temizledim.
- Mert watched the match last night.Mert dün gece maçı izledi.
- We walked along the seaside in Bodrum.Bodrum'da sahil boyunca yürüdük.
- They finished work at six.İşi saat altıda bitirdiler.
- It rained all day yesterday.Dün bütün gün yağmur yağdı.it rains → it rained
- Elif called her mum on Sunday.Elif pazar günü annesini aradı.
B Yazım: lived, studied, stopped
Zeynep studies English now. Last year she studied French. (Zeynep şimdi İngilizce çalışıyor. Geçen yıl Fransızca çalıştı.)
study → studied (studyed değil!). Bazı fiillerde -ed eklerken yazım biraz değişir:
| Kural | Örnek |
|---|---|
| Çoğu fiil: + -ed | work → worked, clean → cleaned |
| Sonu -e ise: sadece + -d | live → lived, dance → danced |
| ünsüz + y: y → -ied | study → studied, carry → carried |
| ünlü + y: + -ed (y kalır) | play → played, enjoy → enjoyed |
| Kısa fiil, ünsüz-ünlü-ünsüz: son harf ikilenir | stop → stopped, plan → planned |
| İngiliz yazımı: sonu -l ise ikilenir | travel → travelled |
→ 'play' ve 'study' farkı: a + y (ünlü) → played; d + y (ünsüz) → studied. → open → opened, visit → visited: bunlar ikilenmez.
- Zeynep studied French at university.Zeynep üniversitede Fransızca okudu.
- We lived in Ankara for five years.Beş yıl Ankara'da yaşadık.live → lived (sadece -d)
- The bus stopped in front of the school.Otobüs okulun önünde durdu.stop → stopped
- Can played football with his friends.Can arkadaşlarıyla futbol oynadı.a + y → played
- Sarah travelled to Cappadocia last summer.Sarah geçen yaz Kapadokya'ya seyahat etti.İngiliz yazımı: travelled
- We really enjoyed the film.Filmden çok keyif aldık.
C yesterday, last week, two days ago
Tom arrived in Istanbul three days ago. He started his new job yesterday. (Tom üç gün önce İstanbul'a geldi. Yeni işine dün başladı.)
Geçmiş zamanla bu kelimeleri çok kullanırız:
| İngilizce | Türkçe |
|---|---|
| yesterday (morning / afternoon / evening) | dün (sabah / öğleden sonra / akşam) |
| last night / week / month / year / Monday | dün gece / geçen hafta / geçen ay / geçen yıl / geçen pazartesi |
| two days ago / ten minutes ago | iki gün önce / on dakika önce |
| in 2019 / in May | 2019'da / mayısta |
→ last week deriz, 'the last week' demeyiz. → 'dün gece' = last night (yesterday night değil). → ago sayıdan sonra gelir: two days ago — Türkçedeki 'iki gün önce' ile aynı sıra! 'before two days' yanlış. → Türkçede zaman ifadesi genelde başta olur (Dün...). İngilizcede çoğunlukla sonda olur: I worked late yesterday. (Başta da olabilir: Yesterday I worked late.)
- I watched a film last night.Dün gece bir film izledim.
- My parents moved to Izmir two years ago.Annemle babam iki yıl önce İzmir'e taşındı.
- Elif opened her café in 2021.Elif kafesini 2021'de açtı.
- We visited my grandmother last Sunday.Geçen pazar babaannemi ziyaret ettik.
- The meeting ended ten minutes ago.Toplantı on dakika önce bitti.
- The traffic was terrible yesterday. We waited on the bridge for an hour.Dün trafik berbattı. Köprüde bir saat bekledik.
D -ed nasıl okunur?
Mert asked for tea. He wanted a big glass.
|---|---|
| /t/ | worked, watched, stopped, asked, cooked |
| /d/ | played, lived, called, cleaned |
| /ɪd/ (ekstra hece) | wanted, needed, started, visited |
→ Ekstra hece (/ɪd/) sadece fiil t ya da d sesiyle bitiyorsa olur: want → wan-ted, need → nee-ded. → Diğer fiillerde hece sayısı değişmez: work (1 hece) → worked (yine 1 hece).
- I asked a question.Bir soru sordum./t/ → 'askt'
- She cooked dinner for us.Bize akşam yemeği pişirdi./t/ → 'kukt'
- We cleaned the house.Evi temizledik./d/ → 'kliind'
- Mert wanted a cup of tea.Mert bir bardak çay istedi./ɪd/ → 'won-tıd'
- The film started late.Film geç başladı./ɪd/ → 'staa-tıd'
'Dün, geçen, önce' gördün mü? Fiile -ed ekle! Güzel haber: Türkçedeki gibi -dım, -dın, -dı, -dık ezberlemene gerek yok. I, you, she, we, they… hepsi için tek şekil: worked. Okurken de unutma: 'vörkt', 'vörk-ed' değil!
