Animasyonlu anlatım
Çizgi film öğretmen have got / has got bu dersin kendi örnek cümleleriyle sahne sahne anlatır: tahtada formül, renk kodlu cümle parçaları, yanlış → doğru karşılaştırmaları. Anlatım İngilizcedir (İngiliz aksanı). İlk açılışta senaryo hazırlanır (~1 dk), sonra anında açılır.
have got / has got, bir şeye sahip olduğumuzu söylemek için kullanılır. Türkçedeki 'Benim arabam var' veya 'Arabam var' cümlelerinin karşılığıdır. Türkçede sahip olunan şey öne çıkar ve sonda var gelir. İngilizcede ise sahip olan kişi başta durur: I*'ve got a car.*
A I have got / she has got: sahip olduklarımız
Durum: Ayşe works in Levent. She has got a small car. Her brother Mert hasn't got a car. He's got a bike. (Ayşe Levent'te çalışıyor. Küçük bir arabası var. Mert'in bisikleti var.)
Türkçede Ayşe'nin arabası var deriz. İngilizcede sıra şöyledir: kişi + have got / has got + şey.

→ he / she / it ile has, diğer kişilerle have. → Konuşmada genelde kısa formu kullanırız: I've got, he's got. → Dikkat: he's got = he has got. Ama he's tired = he is tired. 's arkasında got varsa → has.

B haven't got / hasn't got: olumsuz
Durum: Mert hasn't got a car. He goes to work by metro. Istanbul traffic? No problem! (Mert'in arabası yok. İşe metroyla gidiyor. İstanbul trafiği? Sorun değil!)
Olumsuz yapmak için have / has kelimesinden sonra not ekleriz. got yerinde kalır.

→ Türkçedeki yok = haven't got / hasn't got. → Yan yana: I*'ve got a car.* (Arabam var.) / I haven't got a car. (Arabam yok.) → Çoğul ve sayılamayan kelimelerle olumsuzda genelde any kullanırız: I haven't got any money. (Hiç param yok.)

Türkçede soru için sadece sona mı ekleriz: Kalemin var mı? İngilizcede sıra değişir: have / has başa gelir, got kişiden sonra kalır.

D have got ile başka neler söyleriz?
Durum: Selin can't go to work today. She's got a headache and a temperature. (Selin bugün işe gidemiyor. Başı ağrıyor ve ateşi var.)
have got sadece eşyalar için değil:
- aile: I've got two sisters.
- görünüş: She's got long black hair.
- hastalık: I've got a cold / a headache.
- zaman, plan: I haven't got time. / I've got a meeting at three.
Dikkat 1: Türkçedeki her 'var' have got değildir.

Dikkat 2: Yaş için have got kullanılmaz. I*'m 30.* (✗ I've got 30 years.)
Dikkat 3: I have a car = I've got a car. Anlam aynı; konuşma dilinde İngilizler have got'u çok kullanır. Ama ikisini karıştırma: ✗ I don't have got.
- I've got two sisters and a brother.İki kız kardeşim ve bir erkek kardeşim var.
- Ayşe's got long black hair and brown eyes.Ayşe'nin uzun siyah saçları ve kahverengi gözleri var.
- I've got a terrible cold.Çok kötü nezleyim.Türkçede 'nezleyim' deriz, İngilizcede 'have got a cold'.

Türkçede 'Benim … var' diyorsan, İngilizcede kişiyi başa koy: 'Kedim var' → I've got a cat. Formül basit: he / she / it = has, geri kalan herkes = have. Kısa cevapta 'got' evde kalır: 'Yes, I have!'
